PM Highlights Key Points for Cambodian Diplomats

 Phnom Penh, March 07, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen presided over here this morning the closing ceremony of the three-day annual meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

This annual gathering is an opportunity for the Cambodian diplomats to broaden comprehensive knowledge on key issues related to the “Rectangular Strategy Phase IV of the Royal Government of Cambodia”, the “promotion of economic, tourism, and cultural diplomacy”, and “Cambodia’s position on Climate Change”. It is also a valuable time to promote practical knowledge, deepen critical analysis for Cambodia diplomats to effectively fulfill their mission.

In his speech at the event, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled the time when he was nominated as the first Minister of Foreign Affairs after the country’s liberation from the genocidal regime in 1979.

“40 years have passed. The global, regional and Cambodian situation has changed dramatically. Those changes have brought about new issues, new challenges, new opportunities that require us to respond wisely, flexibly and timely,” he underlined.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen highlighted the current volatile and complex regional and global situation, both on the economic and military aspects, as well as the country’s foreign policy with independence and sovereignty maintenance, and so on.

The Premier encouraged all Cambodian diplomats to pay high attention to boost economic and investment activities, promote tourism and disseminate Cambodian national culture.
