Samdech Hun Sen: CPP and I Never Run Away from People

Phnom Penh, February 20, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has reaffirmed that he and the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (PPC) had never run away from the people.

Addressing at his 64th get-together with factory workers and employees at Chengdu Bayi (Cambodia) Trade Centre located in Ang Snuol district, Kandal province this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen underlined that CPP always stays with the people and he had never ever run away from the people.

“Hun Sen doesn’t have two 2 nationalities, therefore Hun Sen doesn’t run away from the people,” the Premier said. “You (workers) don’t have to care about what others said if you continue to have job and income. The most important is to do our best to have harmonisation in the factory. I am very proud to see our people be no surprise of the psychological warfare conducted by a group of ill-will people who have propagated about the Everything But Arms (EBA) withdrawal.”

“Our country will not die, but move forward with solidity,” Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed.

Last week, the Prime Minister affirmed that the suspension of the European Union’s EBA scheme will not much affect Cambodia.

While presiding over the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of the Ministry of Interior held here on Feb. 14, 2019, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said it will take the EU 18 months to decide whether or not to suspend the EBA scheme for Cambodia. Samdech Techo Hun Sen also called for more internal reform while expanding foreign friendship in an independent and neutral spirit.

In this sense, the Premier reaffirmed to continue good relations with all countries in the European Union.
