Phnom Penh, February 14, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning at the Peace Palace visiting Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister H.E. Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan.
In the courtesy meeting, H.E. Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the outcomes of his bilateral talks with Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the National Defence on border, security and other issues.
The Thai defence minister also expressed his appreciation for the Win Win Memorial that he visited during his stay in Phnom Penh and admired Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his historical mission to liberate the country (from the Khmer Rouge regime) and bring about full peace in late 1998.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked H.E. Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan for his appreciation and voiced his support for the outcomes of the 14th Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee Meeting held at the Garden City Hotel in Phnom Penh this morning.
The Cambodian Premier spoke highly of the GBC, stressing that it has played a key role in promoting peace and stability along the border, which provides favorable conditions for trade, tourism and people-to-people relations.
