Phnom Penh, January14, 2019 –The Executive Committee Meeting of the 27th Annual Meeting of Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-27) was held under the chairmanship of Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia and President of APPF-27, at Sokha Siem Reap Resort and Convention Centre, Siem Reap province, this morning.
According to news release of APPF-27, the purpose of the Executive Committee Meeting was to approve the agendas and topics of this crucial regional event, which will be officially inaugurated tomorrow morning.
The Executive Committee Meeting was attended by the parliamentary delegations from Cambodia, Canada, Australia, Japan, Chile, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Russia and Indonesia.
Cambodia is hosting APPF-27 from Jan. 14 to 17 under the theme of Strengthening Parliamentary Partnership for Peace, Security, and Sustainable Development.
Founded in Tokyo, Japan, in 1993, the APPF aims to promote peace and sustainable development and expand cooperation among member parliaments in the region and the world. Today, APPF has 27 full-fledged member countries, and Cambodia become one of them in 1995.
