Cambodia, Laos Reach Four Cooperation Documents in Education, Culture, Arts and Energy Sectors

AKP Phnom Penh, December 05, 2018 -The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic have signed four key documents in the fields of education, culture, arts and energy.

The signing ceremony took place under the witness of Cambodian Premier Samdech Akka Moha Sena Techo Hun Sen and his Lao counterpart H.E. Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, following their bilateral meeting in Vientiane, Laos on Dec. 5.

The four signed documents include the agreement on education cooperation 2019-2024, memorandum of understanding on cultural and arts cooperation 2019-2021, memorandum of understanding on borrowing Laos’ elephants for art performance and cultural exchange at Phnom Penh Safari, and memorandum of understanding on electricity purchase from Laos for Stung Treng province.

According to the official Facebook page of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, in their bilateral meeting, both leaders discussed the possibilities to further strengthen and expand the existing bilateral cooperation for tangible benefits of the peoples of the two countries as well exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concerns and mutual interests.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his high-level delegation arrived in Vientiane this morning for a two-day official visit in Laos. They were warmly welcomed upon their arrival by H.E. Bosengkham Vongdara, Lao Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism.

During his stay in Laos, Samdech Techo Hun Sen is also scheduled to pay separate courtesy calls on Lao top leaders such as H.E. President Bounnhang Vorachith, and National Assembly  President H.E. Mrs. Pany Yathotou.
