AKP Phnom Penh, November 05, 2018 —Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has appealed to major countries to support and expand the scope of countering counterfeit medicines.
The Premier made the appeal while receiving here yesterday afternoon visiting H.E. Ambassador Jean-David Levitte, President of the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Research Against Counterfeit Medicines (IRACM) of France, according to H.E. Sry Thamrong, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister.
Counterfeit medicine is a hidden killer and the developing countries have been facing with this problem, added Samdech Techo Hun Sen, hoping that the Phnom Penh Declaration to be issued after the Regional Conference on Combating Falsified and Substandard Medicines hosted by Cambodia on Nov. 5-6 will attract interests from other countries.
For his part, H.E. Ambassador Jean-David Levitte highlighted the importance of the regional conference, stressing that it will be held not only in the Mekong region, but also in the whole ASEAN.
Initiated by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Ambassador Jean-David Levitte, the Regional Conference on Combating Falsified and Substandard Medicines was opened this morning under the presidency of the Cambodian Prime Minister.
