AKP Phnom Penh, October 29, 2018 —Visiting H.E. Li Hongzhong, a Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, paid here this morning at the Peace Palace a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
On the occasion, H.E. Li Hongzhong told Samdech Techo Hun Sen of this first visit to Cambodia the purpose of which, he said, is to further boost the exchange between both countries’ leaders and peoples as well as to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
He also spoke highly of the Cambodian Premier’s leadership, which has brought about peace, stability, economic growth, better living standard and harmonised society to the Kingdom.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked H.E. Li Hongzhong for conveying Chinese leaders’ greetings to him and for congratulating the Cambodian People’s Party on its victory in the July National Election.
The Prime Minister congratulated China on the recent inauguration of the world’s longest sea-crossing bridge of more than 55 kilometre long, saying that in the past, China had the longest Great Wall, and now the longest bridge.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen shared the same idea as H.E. Li Hongzhong over the relations between Cambodia and China and welcomed the progress in their relationship, which has reached the level of comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, and now they become “steel friends”.
