PM Hun Sen Begins Working Visit in Turkey

AKP Phnom Penh, October 20, 2018 —Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, started his t្hree-day working visit in Turkey on Oct. 20.

The Cambodian Premier arrived at Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul at 12:10 (Istanbul local time) or 16:10 (Phnom Penh time) and was warmly welcomed upon arrival by many senior Turkish officials.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during his stay in Istanbul, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, during which the two Leaders will exchange views with regard to exploring possibilities to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefits of the two peoples and countries.

It is also expected that a number of Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding will be signed regarding cooperation in the areas of culture, education, sport, agriculture, water resources, tourism, investment, and mine action.

Moreover, Samdech Techo Prime Minister will pay a courtesy call on H.E. Binali Yildirim, President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister will attend and address the opening ceremony of the Cambodian-Turkish Business Forum to encourage members of Turkish business community to come and invest in Cambodia.

It is worth recalling that Cambodia will establish its Embassy in Ankara in 2019. Both countries are committed to increasing bilateral trade to reach US$500 million in the coming years.

On the sidelines of the visit, Samdech Techo Prime Minister will meet with Cambodian students who are studying in Turkey and visit some historical sites.
