AKP Phnom Penh, September 11, 2018 — A delegation of Guangxi Guhong Development Corporation (GGDC) led by its CEO Mr. Li Qian paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia yesterday afternoon in Nanning city, Chinese province of Guangxi.
According to the Cambodian Premier’s official Facebook page, Mr. Li Qian expressed his satisfaction with GGDC’s investment in Cambodia, pointing out that the company has invested around US$8 million in the agricultural sector for already six years. Recently, he continued, GGDC imported about 50,000 tons of Cambodian milled rice.
Mr. Li Qian showed his interest to import more Cambodian agricultural products such as dried cashew nuts and dried mangoes. He also requested Samdech Techo Hun Sen to consider providing more quotas for Cambodian milled rice import to China, up from the current 300,000 tons.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke highly of GGDC’s investment in Cambodia and expressed his support to the increase in the import of Cambodian agricultural products to China.
Regarding the quota of milled rice export, the Prime Minister ordered Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak to work thoroughly on this issue as some companies have no rice mill, but ask for rice export quota to sell to other companies, which really affects other operating companies.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen has been on a visit in Nanning since Sept. 10 to attend the opening ceremony of the 15th China-ASEAN Expo, at the invitation of the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
