AKP Phnom Penh, June 25, 2018 —Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen presided over the inauguration ceremony of Sihanoukville Port Multipurpose Terminal, in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province this morning.
This new achievement was constructed at a total cost of US$74 million under Japanese soft loan, through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), to further respond to the national economic growth.
H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of the Public Works and Transport said the inaugurated main facilities include a 330-metre-long and 13.5-metre-deep retail goods terminal, a 200-metre-long and 7.50-metre-deep terminal for oil exploration logistic base, tugboat, etc.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen highly appreciated this new achievement, stressing that it is a key national economic gate to bring Cambodia’s agricultural and agro-industrial products to the international markets using different ways of transportation link, including road, rail and air.
The Cambodian Premier also expressed his gratitude to the Government of Japan for its financial assistance for the construction of this port multipurpose terminal, which is part of the US$203 million seaport development plan.
