AKP Phnom Penh, May 09, 2018 —Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received visiting Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Chui Sai On at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh yesterday afternoon.
In the courtesy meeting, H.E. Chui Sai On lauded the good cooperation between Cambodia and Macao and expressed the Special Region’s intention to strengthen and expand its cooperation with Cambodia.
He also informed Samdech Techo Hun Sen of the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Framework for Promotion of Friendship with the Cambodian Foreign Ministry and the establishment of sister city alliance with Siem Reap city last year.
In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen highly evaluated the alliance between Siem Reap and Macao, saying that Macao could be a major tourist hub and this is the main point from which both sides can expand their cooperation.
Besides, he added, there is now direct flight between Cambodia and Macao which will boost the tourism between the two destinations.
The Cambodian Premier asked H.E. Chui Sai On to further engage in the development of Cambodia through the promotion of investment, tourism and the import of Cambodian rice.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen paid a visit to Macao in 2015.
