AKP Phnom Penh, April 24, 2018 – Cambodia and China are going to sign on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the construction of a new port in Kampot, a southwestern province of Cambodia.
This information was made known here when Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received visiting Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Chen Wu at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh this morning, said H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier.
According to the assistant, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his high appreciation for this new cooperation.
Samdech Techo Prime Minister underlined the significance of this new port, pointing out that it would become another main corridor in accordance with the China’s One Belt, One Road Initiative as the National Road No. 3 from Phnom Penh to Kampot province will be expanded and there are factories and hydropower dams along this road.
