AKP Phnom Penh, March 31, 2018 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, this morning attended the 6th Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Summit in Ha Noi, Viet Nam, according to Chinese New Agency Xinhua.
In the summit, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the other government leaders from Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, a Chinese state councilor and a Myanmar vice president, plus leaders of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank and the ASEAN Secretary General shared their views under the theme “Leveraging on 25 Years of Cooperation, Building a Sustainable, Integrated and Prosperous GMS”.
All leaders also discussed the recent outcomes of GMS cooperation and the Hanoi Action Plan 2018-2022, the GMS Business Council on achievements of GMS private sector, and endorsed the Hanoi Action Plan 2018-2022, the Regional Investment Framework 2022 and the 6th GMS Joint Declaration.
The action plan, including strengthening links between rural and urban areas in the sub-region, provides the directions and operational focus for the remaining five years of the GMS Strategic Framework.
The Regional Investment Framework 2022 consists of over 200 projects.
China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam launched the GMS Economic Cooperation Programme in 1992, with assistance of the ADB, to enhance economic relations.
