AKP Phnom Penh, March 31, 2018 –Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen yesterday shared the country’s prioritised works in order to achieve its vision of becoming an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
According to his official Facebook page, in his keynote address at the Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GMS) Business Summit held in Ha Noi, Viet Nam under the theme “In Search for New Drivers of Economic Growth, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said there are three prioritised works the Royal Government of Cambodia has been paying attention to, including physical infrastructure construction, software infrastructure development by modernising logistics system and its services, and human resource development.
The Cambodian Premier said that the global economic growth improved in 2017 and will continue to remain strong in 2018 and 2019. At the same time, the GMS’ economy is also on the positive trend, but the possibility of increasing inflation and interest rates caused by the growing demands and protectionism tendency in some countries are affecting trade and foreign direct investment.
In this context, he added, the GMS countries need to speed up regional integration and connectivity, with a focus on more priority areas such as finance, e-commerce, and urban development in border areas. Strengthening our scope of cooperation will provide the flow for future regional growth through the GMS’ integration and opportunities from other regional initiatives.
At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also gave key recommendations to boost the regional cooperation.
