PM Hun Sen Calls for Modernisation in Education Sector

AKP Phnom Penh, April 03, 2018 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, appealed here this morning for the modernisation of the education sector, especially at higher education level.

While presiding over a graduation ceremony of Vanda Institute at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Premier said along with the strengthening of capacity and quality of education at higher education institutions, institutional development is also necessary: hi-tech facilities should be installed with qualified lecturers.

The students themselves also have to strengthen their own capacities even after graduating and being employed, added Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

To date, Cambodia has 115 higher education institutions, 486 high schools, 1,240 lower secondary schools and 7,144 primary schools with a total of some 3 million students.
