AKP Phnom Penh, March 27, 2018 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a high-level delegation to attend the 6th Greater Mekong Sub-region (6th GMS) Summit back-to-back with the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Summit on Development Triangle Area (10th CLV-DTA), at the invitation of H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of Vietnam.
According to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued this evening, the two summits will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam on Mar. 30-31, 2018.
During the 6th GMS Summit that will be held with the theme “Leveraging on 25 Years of Cooperation, and Building a Sustainable, Integrated, and Prosperous GMS”, the Leaders will formally adopt the Hanoi Action Plan 2018-2022 and the Regional Investment Framework 2022. A Joint Summit Declaration will also be issued.
In the framework of the 6th GMS Summit, Samdech Techo will also make an address at the GMS Business Summit, focusing on the successes and challenges in the development of the Mekong sub-region.
During the 10th CLV-DTA, the Leaders will review the past achievements of the initiative and set vision for its future development in key areas, including cooperation in economy, trade, investment, infrastructure and energy. The Leaders will adopt the Plan of Action for Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam economic connectivity up to 2030 and sign a Joint Declaration of the 10th CLV-DTA.
The participation of Samdech Techo Prime Minister at these two events will reflect Cambodia’s commitment to promote friendship and cooperation within the GMS and the CLV frameworks in order to ensure peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.
The Cambodian Premier will be accompanied by H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth, Senior Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance; H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transports; H.E. Var Kimhong, Senior Minister, Chairman of the National Border Committee; H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce; H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism; H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports; H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as well as other members of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
