Cambodian Prime Minister Calls for Social Safety Net for Humans in Scientific and Technological Revolution Era

AKP Phnom Penh, March 15, 2018 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has expressed welcome to the development of science and technology sectors, but called on all stakeholders to consider challenges caused by this progress.

Addressing to the opening ceremony of the 2018 Cambodia Outlook Conference held here this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said with the progress in science and technology, robots will take over humans’ tasks, therefore we have to think of social safety net for those human beings replaced by robots.

“What are they going to do (after being replaced by robots)? We need to think about and pay attention to this issue,” he added.

The development of science and technology is very welcome, but its negative impacts on humanity must be well considered, stressed Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
