AKP Phnom Penh, February 21, 2017 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has confirmed his attendance in the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit to be held in Australia next month.
Addressing to a get-together with over 15,000 workers and employees from 15 factories and enterprises in Teuk Thla area, Khan Sen Sok this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen rejected the comments made by some politicians over possible pressure imposed by the Australian government on Cambodia during this upcoming summit.
“Australia will not put any pressure on Hun Sen […],” underlined the Cambodian premier, adding that he is scheduled to meet with Cambodian communities during his stay in Australia.
The ASEAN-Australia Special Summit, to take place on Mar. 17-18, 2018 in Sydney, will mark a new era in ASEAN-Australia partnership. It will build on their deep legacy of economic cooperation, political dialogue, and the natural interweaving of their people to establish a contemporary, outward-looking partnership for the rapidly changing world they live in.
The Special Summit will strengthen their joint contribution to regional security and prosperity, including by addressing shared security challenges and securing greater opportunities for their businesses.
