PM: Democracy in Cambodia To Continue Flourishing

AKP Phnom Penh, February 01, 2018 – Cambodia is on the track of democracy and multi-party system which will be further promoted, affirmed Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

While presiding over here this morning the graduation ceremony and the inauguration ceremony of a new building of the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed Cambodia’s commitment to the implementation of democracy and strongly condemned the newly established Cambodia National Rescue Movement.

According to the Cambodian premier, this new movement is a rebellious and terrorist group, and some of its members will face the arrest warrants and be repatriated to Cambodia if they come to some Asian countries.

Cambodian authorities may seek cooperation from other countries in Asia to arrest and extradite them back to Cambodia, he underlined.

Cambodia National Rescue Movement was established on Jan. 29, 2018 in the U.S. by a group of former opposition politicians, including the self-imposed exile Sam Rainsy, former President of the dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party. Cambodian authorities regarded this new movement as an illegal organisation.
