Permanent DPM Bin Chhin Calls for Continued Support to Local Products

AKP, October 27, 2017 –​H.E. Bin Chhin, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, has appealed to all Cambodian people to continue supporting and using local products to strengthen national production chain in order to create job opportunities and to reduce poverty.

He made the appeal while presiding over the launch of Cambodian Products Trade Fair organised by the Trade Promotion General Directorate of the Ministry of Commerce at Vimean Sopheak Mongkol (VSM) Centre, Phnom Penh on Oct. 26, according to a news release of the Ministry of Commerce.

The inauguration ceremony of this four-day fair, which is part of “Buy Khmer Products” campaign, was also attended by Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak, high-ranking government officials, businessmen, vendors, representatives of small and medium enterprises and people.

On the occasion, H.E. Bin Chhin appreciated the initiative of the Ministry of Commerce to promote local products across the country through the “Buy Khmer Products” campaign and encouraged more organisation and participation in national and international trade fairs in order to further increase the country’s trade scale.

For his part, H.E. Pan Sorasak highlighted the success of the campaign’s 1st season in Phnom Penh, and the provinces of Siem Reap, Kampong Cham and Preah Sihanouk.

The Cambodian Products Trade Fair attracted 194 companies to display their products and services on 200 booths. The event also includes workshop and discussion meeting between producers and suppliers and buyers and consumers of Cambodian products, along with concert performed by famous Cambodian artistes.
