On the morning of 23 September 2026, at the Peace Palace, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Mr Bruce Poon Tip, Founder of G Adventures, and his delegation on the occasion of G Adventures hosting its 2026 GX Summit in Cambodia from 23 to 28 September 2026.
During the meeting, the Founder of G Adventures expressed his profound gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for facilitating the hosting of the 2026 GX Summit, which brings together approximately 700 delegates. He noted that the event would play an important role in showcasing and promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential to the world. He also expressed his appreciation for the Royal Government’s vision and strategy for tourism development, noting that this vision aligns with G Adventures’ core mission of promoting community-based tourism to improve local livelihoods and reduce poverty. He informed Samdech Thipadei that Cambodia possesses rich potential for cultural tourism, alongside abundant natural tourism resources, which make the country an attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists. Furthermore, Mr. Bruce Poon Tip reaffirmed G Adventures’ commitment to contributing to Cambodia’s tourism development by promoting Cambodia as a destination for international visitors. He noted that this would be pursued through collaboration with international travel agencies, media outlets, and prominent content creators to showcase Cambodia’s beauty and attractions, while highlighting Cambodia as a safe, warm, and welcoming destination with hospitable people.
In response, Samdech Thipadei expressed his appreciation to G Adventures for selecting Cambodia as the host of this important global event, emphasising that the presence of international delegates would help showcase the true potential of Cambodian tourism to the world. Samdech Thipadei highlighted the Royal Government’s tourism development policy, which prioritises ecotourism and community-based tourism. In this context, he emphasised the Government’s support for tourism communities through the development of necessary infrastructure, capacity building for local communities, and encouragement of private-sector involvement, while keeping local interests at the core. At the same time, Samdech Thipadei highlighted the development of new tourism products, such as cluster travel packages connecting major destinations across Cambodia, including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and surrounding areas. Additionally, he highlighted the modernisation of the visa application system and the streamlining of immigration procedures to facilitate smoother travel for tourists and visitors to Cambodia.
Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei encouraged G Adventures to continue working closely with the Ministry of Tourism, the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), and other relevant ministries and institutions to strengthen cooperation, with a view to ensuring the long-term resilience and continuity of Cambodia’s tourism sector.
