On the afternoon of 15 July 2026, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Mr Wu Yujie, Representative of Shandong (Cambodia) Economic and Technological Development Zone, on the occasion of his working visit to the People’s Republic of China and his participation in the 2026 World AI Conference, held from 15 to 17 July 2026.
During the meeting, Mr Wu Yujie expressed his sincere appreciation for Cambodia’s remarkable progress and development across all sectors. He also expressed his strong confidence that, under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei, Cambodia would continue to achieve even greater development in the years ahead. Mr Wu Yujie briefed Samdech Thipadei on the company’s business operations in Cambodia, noting that it has been investing in the country since 2012, primarily in cashew cultivation and industrial park development. He reaffirmed the company’s strong commitment to continuing its contribution to Cambodia’s socio-economic development in the new era. He also informed Samdech Thipadei of the company’s intention to expand its investments into other high-potential sectors, particularly renewable energy.
In response, Samdech Thipadei highly appreciated the company’s confidence in Cambodia and its investment in the Kingdom, recognising its valuable contribution to Cambodia’s socio-economic development over the years. He also welcomed the company’s intention to expand its investments and encouraged it to maintain close engagement with the relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions in order to translate these investment opportunities into concrete investment projects.
Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei encouraged the company to consider expanding its investments in the agriculture and agro-industry sectors in Cambodia’s northeastern region, taking into account the company’s expertise and experience in cashew cultivation. He also highlighted the Royal Government’s comprehensive support measures and investment incentives for agriculture and agro-industry projects in the northeastern region.
