H.E. Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows:
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia coordinated with delegations of foreign military attachés to the Kingdom of Cambodia from 12 countries to inspect the actual location in Prey Chan Village, O’ Bei Choan Commune, O’ Chrov District, Banteay Meanchey Province. The visit aimed to observe the site of the attack, the barbed wire installation, the illegal installation of shipping containers by the Thai military, and to assess the status of the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, which came into effect at 12:00 p.m. on December 27, 2025.
It is also important to emphasize that since the ceasefire came into effect, the Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia have consistently affirmed their firm and clear commitment to fully, strictly, and responsibly respect and implement the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC), dated December 27, 2025; the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, dated October 26, 2025; and other related agreements, in order to swiftly improve the situation and restore normalcy, peace, stability, and long-term security along the border.
The public, as well as national and international journalists, are hereby informed of the facts regarding this matter.
