AKP, September 03, 2017 – Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has appealed to the U.S. to show its stance on Cambodia’s internal affairs, following the arrest of President of the main opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) H.E. Kem Sokha early this morning.

Speaking at a get-together with more than 4,000 representatives of workers and employees from 74 factories in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said the U.S. should explain its involvement in H.E. Kem Sokha’s conspiracy to topple the legal government of Cambodia, and urged the U.S to stop interfering in the internal affairs of Cambodia.

“There should be a reasonable clarification. Is it the case of an individual American or government? […],” the Cambodian premier asked.

The Cambodian competent authorities will conduct further investigation to find the foreigners who are behind this (conspiracy) case, he underlined.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also asked the opposition party to clarify this case clearly to avoid being dissolved in accordance to the Cambodian laws in force.

H.E. Kem Sokha was arrested at 00:35, of the 3rd September 2017, in flagrante delicto by the judiciary police officers in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kingdom of Cambodia for his conspiracy with foreign power to harm the country.

Kem Sokha and the accomplices with foreign power, which harms the Kingdom of Cambodia, said the royal government in a statement released this morning.
