AKP | Phnom Penh, June 23, 2025 –H.E. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, has recently visited Phnom Penh’s Central Market to sample and promote Cambodia’s diverse and delicious fruits.
“One of the great things I’ve discovered while living in Cambodia is how delicious Cambodian food is,” said the ambassador in a video clip released over the weekend. “Cambodian fruits are especially delicious and come in such a wide variety.”
H.E. UENO Atsushi praised Cambodian mangoes and durians, calling them the best in the world. He noted that this is the peak season for Cambodian fruits and that he has particularly enjoyed many excellent mangoes.
During his visit, he also tried durian, which he described as “creamy and delicious,” as well as Pnheav (Burmese grape), which he found “very sour but tasty.”
