Phnom Penh, October 28, 2019 –Visiting President of Hungary H.E. János Áder has congratulated Cambodia on its development as well as its culture and civilisation.
The Hungarian leader made the appreciation while meeting here this afternoon with Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA).
The current progress of Phnom Penh capital reflects the bright future of Cambodia, underlined H.E. János Áder.
For his part, Samdech Heng Samrin expressed warm welcome to the state visit of H.E. János Áder and lauded the progress in bilateral cooperation between the governments of both countries as well as the achievements jointly attained by the two Heads of Government.
The NA president also recalled the friendship between Cambodia and Hungary, the latter’s assistance to Cambodia, especially after the collapse of the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime, and its active contribution to the peace-seeking process in the Kingdom.
H.E. János Áder and his spouse arrived in Cambodia yesterday night for a four-day state visit. This morning, they were received in a royal audience by His Majesty the King Norodom Sihamoni. In the afternoon, besides meeting with Samdech Heng Samrin, the Hungarian president held talks with Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate, and Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
Tomorrow, H.E. János Áder and his spouse will leave for Siem Reap province to visit Angkor temples before concluding their visit in Cambodia on Oct. 30.
