AKP , May 04, 2017 –Cambodian senior officials held here yesterday a press conference on the preparation of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN in 2017 to take place from May 10 to 12, 2017 under the theme “Youth, Technology and Growth.”
This press conference was presided over by Senior Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport in his capacity as Chair of the WEF ASEAN Organising Committee, H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, and H.E. Sen Seila, Advisor to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
According to H.E. Sun Chanthol, this forthcoming forum will be attended by 604 delegates including the President of the Philippines, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of Laos and other 18 Ministers from all around the world.
The World Economic Forum attracts heads of government, business leaders, researchers, NGOs, youth leaders and other thought leaders and influencers from around the world, said the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in a news release, adding that the theme of this Forum “Youth, Technology and Growth” is particularly appropriate for Cambodia that boasts a young population base who are embracing new technologies as a means of communication and commerce.
This will be a golden opportunity for Cambodia to be showcased on the global stage and will attract more interest in foreign investment for the country, underlined H.E. Sun Chanthol.
