Deputy Commander of the Russian Ground Forces Commits to Further Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Cooperation

On the morning of 28 October 2026, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Major General Sergei Grigorievich MARKOVCHIN, Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation, and his delegation at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, the Major General expressed his profound gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for receiving him and his delegation during their visit to Cambodia. He briefed Samdech Thipadei on the progress made in security and defence cooperation between the two countries. He also spoke highly of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening and deepening these ties.

In response, Samdech Thipadei expressed his gratitude to the Russian Federation for its continued assistance in human resource development in Cambodia. He underscored the Royal Government of Cambodia’s support for further strengthening and expanding defence cooperation between the two countries.

Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei and the Major General exchanged views on promoting security and defence cooperation through continued exchanges of visits between military officials of the two countries, as well as the sharing of experience, knowledge, and expertise for their mutual benefit of both countries.
