Phnom Penh, June 03, 2019 –Some 3,161 new graduates of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) received here this morning their certificates from Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
The graduation ceremony took place at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre.
According to H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, this is the 23rd time that the Premier presided over the graduation ceremony of RUPP, a famous state-owned university in the country.
Since 1980, he pointed out, almost 48,000 students, of them 5,400 are female and 1,856 are scholarship students, have graduated from URPP. In this 2018-2019 academic year, nearly 22,000 student, about half of them are female, have been pursuing their studies at the university.
RUPP has so far signed cooperation MoUs with 28 partner universities and cooperated with other 148 universities and institutions around the world on exchange of students and teachers and of experience on teaching skills, research and so on, added the education minister.
