Phnom Penh, June 01, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Bounnhang Vorachith, General Secretary of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, in Vientiane, Laos, yesterday afternoon.
According to a news release of the NA General Secretariat, both sides lauded the achievements of each other’s country in socio-economic development and their traditional ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation.
The Lao president expressed his delight to see the good relationship and comprehensive cooperation, both in bilateral and multilateral frameworks, between the Cambodian and Lao NAs, which will contribute to mutual interest of both neighbouring countries and fellow citizens.
H.E. Bounnhang Vorachith expressed his optimism that Cambodian-Lao NAs will join hands to push the government of both countries to fully implement already-signed agreements for both countries’ supreme interest, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, education, culture, border affairs, and the like.
From his side, Samdech Heng Samrin briefed H.E. Bounnhang Vorachith on his bilateral meeting with his Lao counterpart H.E. Ms. Pany Yathotou, during which both sides spoke highly of the outcome of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries as well as between the two legislative bodies.
