Phnom Penh, March 22, 2019 –Cambodia is planning to construct an international-standard convention centre in the coastal province of Preah Sihanouk to welcome ASEAN Related Summits in 2022.
The ASEAN related Summits would be organised in Preah Sihanouk province in late 2022 to show off the province’s potential to the world, said Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville expressway held in Kampong Speu province this morning.
“The ASEAN Summit in April would take place in Siem Reap province while the Summits with ASEAN’s dialogue partners would be held in Preah Sihanouk province as we’ve already hosted ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Phnom Penh twice,” he underlined.
Cambodia used to host ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in 2002 and 2012. The country is going to take over the ASEAN chairmanship in 2022.
