Phnom Penh, March 22, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held talks with visiting H.E. Doug Ericksen, a member of the Washington State Senate, here at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon.
In the meeting, H.E. Doug Ericksen appreciated the rapid development, peace and political stability in Cambodia and congratulated the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) for its victory in the national election in July last year. He said he was an observer during the election and witnessed the free, fair and non-violent election.
He continued that the purpose of his visit to Cambodia this time is to further strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and the U.S.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked the visiting U.S. senator for his visit’s intention and said that Cambodia is happy to resume cooperation with the U.S. in searching for the remains of Americans killed or missing in action in Cambodia during the war.
On behalf of the U.S., H.E. Doug Ericksen thanked the Prime Minister and the Royal Government for their cooperation and contribution to this humanitarian action.
