Phnom Penh, March 10, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen paid a visit to the victims of sexual assaults at an AFESHIP’s rehabilitation centre in Phnom Penh.
This centre is situated in village 24, Sangkat Prey Sar, Khan Dangkor. It is providing psychological treatments and vocational training to the girls and women who are victims of sexual assaults.
There are currently 44 volunteer teachers and 89 victims in the centre.
The Premier made the visit after his spouse came to the centre on Mar. 7, 2019. They both strongly condemned sexual assaults, especially those committed by the victims’ relatives.
Established in 1996, AFESHIP is an NGO working actively on caring for and securing the rights of victims or at risk of being victims of sexual trafficking, violence, abuse or indentured slavery and exploitation and to successfully recover, getting education/training and reintegrate them into mainstream society through financial independence in a sustainable and innovative manner.
