During the meeting, the Chairman briefed Samdech Thipadei on the company’s business operations and its cooperation with various partners in Cambodia. He highlighted that COMAC specialises in the research and development of commercial aircraft and currently manufactures two aircraft models, the C919 and the C909. The Chairman added that COMAC’s cooperation with Cambodia extends beyond aircraft sales to include maintenance services and human resource training for personnel as well as officials in Cambodia’s civil aviation sector, with the aim of ensuring the success of its business operations while contributing to the modernisation of the sector. In this regard, COMAC would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Strategic Cooperation in Civil Aviation with the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) of Cambodia on 17 July 2026. The cooperation would make a significant contribution to strengthening Cambodia’s civil aviation sector through technology transfer, human resource training, airport development and maintenance, and technical support. It would, in particular, enhance the operational capacity of Cambodia’s national airline, enabling it to expand its operations, strengthen air connectivity, and enhance Cambodia’s regional competitiveness.
In response, Samdech Thipadei congratulated COMAC on its successful business operations in Cambodia, particularly its partnership with Air Cambodia. He expressed his support for the various initiatives and strategic plans developed in collaboration with the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation of Cambodia and Air Cambodia, aimed at human resource training, thereby contributing to the modernisation of Cambodia’s civil aviation sector and enhancing its competitiveness at both the regional and global levels. At the same time, Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed the Royal Government of Cambodia’s continued support and readiness to facilitate close coordination between COMAC and the relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions, particularly the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation.
