CRCC Expresses Interest to Expand Its Investment in Cambodia

On the afternoon of 15 July 2026, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Mr Dai Hegen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), and his delegation on the occasion of his working visit and his participation in the 2026 World AI Conference in the People’s Republic of China from 15 to 17 July 2026.

During the meeting, the Chairman briefed Samdech Thipadei on the business operations of the company, one of the world’s leading engineering and construction companies, which specialises in construction contracting, infrastructure operations, high-tech equipment manufacturing, and the development of emerging strategic industries, with operations in more than 150 countries. The Chairman highlighted that CRCC has been investing in Cambodia since 2008 and has successfully completed numerous major projects, including the Battambang Water Supply Project, the Cambodia Athletes’ Village, the Ministry of National Defence Office Building, and the Tbong Khmum Cambodia–China Friendship Hospital. At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to the relevant ministries and institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia for always providing excellent cooperation and support, which has been a driving factor for the continuous success of the company’s business in Cambodia. Furthermore, the Chairman expressed the company’s intention to further expand its investment in Cambodia in key sectors, such as transport infrastructure, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, as well as integrated investment, construction, and operation.

In response, Samdech Thipadei congratulated the company on the success of its business operations both internationally and in Cambodia. He highly valued the company’s contributions to constructing major projects in Cambodia and warmly welcomed the company’s interest in exploring opportunities to expand its investment. In addition, Samdech Thipadei emphasised that the development of transport infrastructure is a top priority sector to which the Royal Government attaches great importance. Indeed, over the past two decades, Cambodia has extensively developed its transport infrastructure, both by land and water, while the Royal Government is currently also giving high priority to developing and strengthening railway transport services.

Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei encouraged the company to continue maintaining close engagement with the relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions in order to realise its investment expansion projects in Cambodia.
