AKP | Phnom Penh, June 18, 2025 –The gathering today (Solidary March) is not intended to show strength or threaten anyone, but to demonstrate our support as Cambodians for the government’s peaceful approach to resolving border issues and to encourage our border soldiers in protecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.
The remarks were made by Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hun Many, President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), before leading the Solidarity March from Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre to the Independence Monument this morning.
“Cambodia is mature in resolving issues peacefully and promoting mutual respect and understanding between nations without encouraging racial discrimination, and our gathering today is not intended to escalate the [ongoing border] issue,” he stressed.
Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many also expressed his appreciation to the numerous participations from his compatriots even though the event was organised on short notice. “This large turnout sent a message to the forces stationed at the border that we are here to support them.”
Today’s Solidary March is not a programme of the UYFC, but that of all Cambodian citizens, he said, emphasising that this event reflects the spirit, pride, love, support, and trust on His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen-Mother, Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and especially Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet.
Tens of thousands of Cambodians from all walks of life gathered early this morning at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh for the Solidarity March to express their unity with the Royal Government’s efforts on border resolution and to show moral support for frontline troops.
