Cambodia will export in-shell cashew nuts (M23 type) worth approximately USD 35 million initially, with plans to expand exports to USD 400 million in the future

(Phnom Penh): On the morning of Wednesday, 11 March 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency SAMHENG Bora, Secretary of State and Chairman of the Export Promotion Task Force (EPTF), received a business delegation led by Mr. Jiang Xiaofei, Director of the Overseas Enterprise Expansion Working Committee of the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy (CIIDS). The delegation included representatives from China Bonded Port Group Co., Ltd. and Men Sarun MDR Co., Ltd. The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary of State, the Director General of Trade Promotion, and technical officers of the Ministry.

The meeting aimed to strengthen and expand bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Cambodia and China, while exploring potential avenues to boost Cambodian agricultural exports. His Excellency Secretary of State extended a warm welcome and engaged in fruitful discussions focused on enhancing the agro-industry sector and its value chains, which serve as key drivers of Cambodia’s sustainable economic development.

Taking this important opportunity, His Excellency the Secretary of State witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the “Supply Contract of Cambodian Cashew Nuts” between China Bonded Port Group Co., Ltd. and Men Sarun MDR Co., Ltd.Under this agreement, Cambodia will export in-shell cashew nuts (M23 type) worth approximately USD 35 million initially, with plans to expand exports to USD 400 million in the future.

This remarkable milestone is the direct result of the active coordination and dedicated business-matching efforts of the Ministry’s Export Promotion Task Force (EPTF), which consistently serves as a key catalyst in connecting Cambodian exporters with potential international buyers. The robust cooperation between the two companies not only ensures the continued growth of cashew exports to the Chinese market but also sends a strong positive signal to attract more Chinese investors to Cambodia, ultimately paving the way for broader expansion of national agricultural exports into the global market.
