AKP Phnom Penh, October 23, 2018 \u2014World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) will continue to assist Cambodia and support the Kingdom\u2019s commitment to promote intellectual property rights (IPRs).<\/p>\n

The claim was made by H.E. Francis Gurry, Director General of WIPO, during a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia yesterday, on the sidelines of the UNTAD 2018 World Investment Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, according to the Cambodian Premier\u2019s official Facebook page.<\/p>\n

WIPO has been worked closely with Cambodia, especially helped the country elaborate the National Intellectual Property Strategy adopted in 2016, he added, stressing that Cambodia has many potential and a lot of its trademarks have become the country\u2019s icons.<\/p>\n

Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked WIPO for its contribution to the capacity building of Cambodian officials, particularly to the elaboration of National Intellectual Property Strategy. He asked WIPO to continue helping Cambodia in IPRs.<\/p>\n

Cambodia will further deepen its cooperation with WIPO, he affirmed, adding that he would like to see more WIPO\u2019s contribution in the development of Cambodian human resources to become more competitive.<\/p>\n

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also requested WIPO to help build Cambodian trademarks to be recognised internationally.<\/p>\n
