AKP Phnom Penh,\u00a0June 15, 2018\u00a0\u2014Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a bilateral talk with his Thai counterpart H.E. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha in Bangkok, Thailand this afternoon, on the sidelines of the \u00a08th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation <\/span>Strategy Summit (8th ACMECS) and the 9th Cambodia-Lao PDR-Myanmar-Vietnam Summit (9th CLMV Summit).\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

According to his official Facebook page, Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke highly of the increase in bilateral trade between the two countries from US$5.6 billion in 2016 to US$6.16 billion last year. He also called for closer cooperation so as to achieve the target of US$15 billion two-way trade volume by 2020.<\/p>\n

The Cambodian Premier also asked the Thai side to speed up the draft MoU on cross-border goods, and to convince more Thai investors to invest in Cambodia.<\/p>\n

Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked Thailand for helping to provide the legal status to Cambodian migrant workers in Thailand and for donating a locomotive to Cambodia, and urged both sides to negotiate for an agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on techniques and procedures for cross-border railway transport and for the opening of O\u2019 Neang international border gate along with the opening of Stung Bot-international border gate.<\/p>\n
