Thongloun Sisoulith.

In the meeting, the two leaders spoke highly of the existing bilateral cooperation between the two neighbouring nations.

H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith congratulated Cambodia on hosting the World Economic Forum on ASEAN 2017 and on her rapid development, especially in Phnom Penh.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith for his presence at the WEF being hosted by Cambodia from May 10 to 12.

Besides, both leaders exchanged views on border issue, the two nations’ connectivity including a cross-border bridge construction (Tonle Ropov) to promote their peoples’ living standard.

John Key, Former Prime Minister of New Zealand.

H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, told reporters after the courtesy meeting that H.E. John Key highly appreciated Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his leadership which brought about remarkable progress to Cambodia in the past 30 years.

H.E. John Key told the Cambodian premier of his visit, stressing that he came to Cambodia as only a simple New Zealand citizen and Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s friend, to visit some health and education projects supported by Dr. Haruhisa Handa, a Japanese charitable person in Cambodia.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said his leadership has given priority to human resource development and promotion of the quality of education in Cambodia.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister also briefed his guest on the commune/Sangkat council election to be held on June 4, 2017.

Besides, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. John Key discussed Cambodia-New Zealand bilateral relations, New Zealand’s scholarship programme for Cambodian students, and political situation in the region and the world.

Somkeo Silavong.

H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister told reporters after the courtesy meeting that Samdech Techo Hun Sen highly valued the outcome of the talks between H.E. Somkeo Silavong and Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to further strengthen the cooperation between Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior and Lao PDR’s Ministry of Public Security.

The Cambodian premier recommended both sides to fully carry out what they have agreed, underlined the delegate minister.

For his part, he added, H.E. Somkeo Silavong lauded the existing friendship and solidarity between the two neighbouring nations and wished for continued security cooperation at the border.

Yesterday, the Cambodian Ministry of Interior and the Lao Ministry of Public Security held a fruitful discussion on their 2017 cooperation under the co-chairmanship of the two ministers.

In the meeting, both sides agreed to foster their cooperation in maintaining security, order, social safety along the common border, constant and on-time information exchange, and so on.

Cambodia, Vietnam Sign Four Cooperation Deals https://pressocm.gov.kh/en/archives/3853 https://pressocm.gov.kh/en/archives/3853#respond Tue, 25 Apr 2017 12:16:02 +0000 http://pressocm.gov.kh/?p=3853 AKP, April 25, 2017 –The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam reached here this morning four cooperation deals to promote the fields of infrastructure development, fisheries, connectivity, trade and so on.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his visiting Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, following their official talks at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh this morning.

Those four documents include the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on joint study on the construction of Phnom Penh-Bavet expressway and Ho Chi Minh-Moc Bai expressway, the MoU on the construction project of a centre for voluntary and community-based treatment service for drug addicts in Preah Sihanouk province, the MoU on bilateral cooperation on fisheries sector, and the MoU on the construction of Phnom Penh-Hanoi Friendship Boulevard.

The high-level Vietnamese delegation led by H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his spouse arrived in Phnom Penh yesterday afternoon for a three-day official visit in Cambodia. After arrival, the delegation was received in a royal audience by His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

This afternoon, the Vietnamese premier paid separate courtesy calls on Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, and His Holiness Samdech Preah Akka Moha Sangharajadhipati Tep Vong, Great Supreme Patriarch of Mohanikaya of Cambodia.

This evening, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his spouse will host a dinner reception in honour of H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his spouse at the Peace Palace.

This visit marks the celebration of the Friendship Year 2017 and the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Cambodia and Vietnam and contributes to further elevating and strengthening the excellent bonds of traditional friendship, good neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc, at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh this morning.

According to H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his congratulations to Cambodia on her progress in all sectors, as well as the country’s sustainable economic growth, social stability, peace and so on under the wise leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

For his part, the Cambodian premier lauded Vietnam’s achievements and called on his Vietnamese counterpart to further help promoting the cross-border trade so as to boost the bilateral trade exchange to reach US$5 billion in the future, up from US$2.92 billion last year.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also encouraged the Vietnamese investors and tourists to continue visiting and doing business in Cambodia and expressed thanks to Vietnam for her support to Cambodia in the past and at the present time.

On the border affairs, both leaders agreed to authorise the border committees of the two countries to continue working together to solve the remaining issues, and pledged to build more infrastructure at the common border for the benefits of the two peoples.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen underlined that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been treating the documented Vietnamese people in Cambodia as other nationals without discrimination. He also agreed with H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s request to elaborate Khmer-Vietnamese, Vietnamese-Khmer dictionaries.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese premier announced to provide US$3 million to Cambodia for the construction of a drug addiction correctional centre in Preah Sihanouk province and US$ 2 million for the construction of a market in Thbong Khmum province.

Shinzo Abe would like to invite Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to visit Japan in his appropriate time.

The invitation was made by visiting Director-General, Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan H.E. Kazuya Nashida while meeting with Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hor Namhong in Phnom Penh on April 24, H.E. Um Sokan, Assistant to H.E. Hor Namhong told reporters after the meeting.

H.E. Kazuya Nashida also informed the Cambodian DPM about Japan’s plan to establish a consulate general in the cultural province of Siem Reap in response to the growing number of Japanese tourists to Cambodia.

For his part, H.E. Hor Namhong thanked the Government of Japan for its assistance for the development of Cambodia, especially for its support to the election process in Cambodia.

He also noted the increasing number of Japanese investors in Cambodia, pointing out that the bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$1.3 billion in 2016.

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc cut red ribbon to inaugurate the 427.44-metre-long Chrey Thom-Long Binh, a cross border bridge connecting Chrey Thom (Kandal province, Cambodia) and Long Binh (An Giang province, Vietnam), in a ceremony organised at Chrey Thom village, Sampov Loun commune of Koh Thom district, this morning.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his spouse arrived here this afternoon for an official visit until April 26, 2017, at the invitation of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

According to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Vietnamese premier will be received in a Royal Audience by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace.

H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc will also pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate, and Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, as well as hold bilateral talks with Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

Besides, he will also pay a courtesy call on His Holiness Samdech Preah Akka Moha Sangharajadhipati Tep Vong, Great Supreme Patriarch of Mohanikaya of Cambodia.

This morning in the Cambodian province of Kandal, H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc co-presided over the inauguration ceremony of Cambodia-Vietnam Chrey Thom-Long Binh Friendship Bridge with Samdech Techo Hun Sen,

This visit will mark the celebration of the Friendship Year 2017 and the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Cambodia and Vietnam and will contribute to further elevating and strengthening the excellent bonds of traditional friendship, good neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations, underlined the press release.
