Phnom Penh, December 15, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen underlined here this afternoon the key contribution of trade fairs in boosting trade activities.
“The organisation of and participation in trade exhibitions give us a chance to disseminate Cambodia’s potential in searching for export markets and strengthening partnership between public and private fields, thus setting up international relationship, attracting foreign investments, disseminating culture and civilisation, and consolidating the economic and trade cooperation with other partner countries in the region and the world over,” said the Premier at the opening ceremony of the 14th Cambodian and Import-Export Goods Exhibition 2019 at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen continued that the 14th Cambodian and Import-Export Goods Exhibition 2019 is Cambodia’s significant trade event at international level contributing to disseminating the practical situation in Cambodia at full peace, and to showing the country’s business atmosphere and sustainable investments as well as the economic and financial policy and other fields laid out by the Royal Government of Cambodia aimed at boosting the domestic and foreign trade activities.
This trade event also provides all the Cambodian and foreign business people with an opportunity to meet and discuss with one another to promote and boost their businesses and investments, he added.
The 14th Cambodian and Import-Export Goods Exhibition 2019, taking place from Dec. 15 to 18, attracted support and participation from regional friendly countries such as China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos as well as from the 25 municipal and provincial commerce departments, Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, Cambodia Rice Federation, Cambodia Business Association, and local and foreign companies operating in Cambodia.
Different goods and services, ranging from agro, agro-trade products, handicrafts, silk, home decoration, office materials and jewelries to construction materials, education and banking services and investment projects, are displaying on 372 booths during the four-day fair.
Besides the trade event, there will also be trade meetings, business and investment forum, workshops, signing ceremonies of business and investment projects, and so on.
