Siem Reap, June 12, 2019 –Visiting President of Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) Mr. Fayyaz Sheheryar has spoken highly of the media evolution in Cambodia.
The AIBD president made the appreciation while leading a group of visiting ministers and vice-ministers of information participating in the 16th Asia Media Summit (AMS Angkor 2019) to pay a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen in Siem Reap provincial city this morning, prior to the AMS Angkor 2019’s opening ceremony.
Mr. Fayyaz Sheheryar added that his presence as well as that of the members of his delegation in Cambodia is to share knowledge and exchange experience in order to provide professional information to people around the world, especially in the region.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed warm welcome to the delegation and briefed them on the broadcasting situation in Cambodia, stressing that the Kingdom is expected to complete the shift from analog to digital broadcasting in 2023.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen called for attention to the evolution in broadcasting content, especially to fake news.
