Cambodia Looks for More Cooperation with Indonesia

Phnom Penh, February 14, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has suggested the continued strengthening and expansion of cooperation between Cambodia and Indonesia while their relationship turns 60 this year.

The Cambodian Premier made the suggestion when he received here at the Peace Palace this morning visiting H.E. Ms. Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen further encouraged both sides to boost their cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, tourism and culture as well as to promote the people-to-people relations through exchanges of visits and cultural programmes.

The Prime Minister asked the Indonesian side to establish direct flight to Cambodia to attract tourists, businessmen and investors for both countries.

H.E. Ms. Puan Maharani told Samdech Techo Hun Sen of her visit, the purpose of which is to attend the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations (Feb. 13, 1959-2019).

Samdech Techo Hun Sen highly valued H.E. Ms. Puan Maharani’s visit in Cambodia, saying that her presence has contributed to the tightening of the two countries’ diplomatic ties. He also recalled Indonesia’s significant contribution to the peace-seeking process in the Kingdom.
