AKP Phnom Penh, December 29, 2018 -Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here at the Peace Palace yesterday afternoon visiting Executive Secretary of the Centrist Democrat International (CDI) Mr. Antonio Lopez-Isturiz.

In the courtesy meeting, Mr. Antonio Lopez-Isturiz highly valued the heroism and leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen that has put an end to the civil war in the country and congratulated Cambodia on its economic growth of 7.3 percent.

He also said it is his honour to attend the inauguration of the Win-Win Memorial and the commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of Win-Win Policy on Dec. 29.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen briefed him on the general situation of Cambodia divided due to civil wars for more than 500 years until the adoption of the Win-Win strategy that brought about peace and national unity to the Kingdom.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled that on Dec. 29, 1998, Khmer Rouge senior leaders visited him at his residence and this meeting sent a message to the Cambodian people and Khmer Rouge’s remaining forces as well as the international communities that the Khmer Rouge senior leaders came to join the Royal Government, which therefore attracted the remaining forces to be integrated into the Royal Government.

It was at that time that the people of Cambodia realised that peace and stability exist in the country, and since then investors and tourists came more and more to Cambodia.
