Cambodian PM Calls for Participation from Specialised Banks in Human Resource Training

AKP Phnom Penh, June 21, 2018 —Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has called on all private specialised banks to take part in training human resources, especially in tourism sector.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to appeal to all specialised banks of the private sector to contribute to human resource training by providing low-interest loans to students who want to pursue their studies in the field of tourism,” said the Premier while presiding over here this afternoon the closing ceremony of the 2nd International Conference on ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professional (ASEAN MRA-TP).

The appeal was made in response to the growing number of foreign tourists to Cambodia and the increasing interface between Cambodia and other countries in the ASEAN framework and the world.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also advised Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon to contact the specialised banks to arrange the formalities and discuss about interest rate.

Cambodia hosted the 2nd International Conference on ASEAN MRA-TP in Phnom Penh on June 20-21 under the theme “Human Resource Development for Sustainable Tourism.”

The ASEAN MRA-TP is a form of cooperation aiming at sharing experience and good practices on human resource training in tourism, especially in hotel and travel services.

The ASEAN MRA-TP is aimed to improve quality tourism services in the bloc. Certified Tourism Professionals under the MRA-TP would support Member States in developing ASEAN into a Quality Tourism Destination as indicated in the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016-2025.
