Cambodia, Bangladesh Sign 11 Cooperation Deals

AKP, December 04, 2017 –Cambodia and Bangladesh have entered into 11 cooperation deals during the official visit by Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh H.E. Ms. Sheikh Hasina to Cambodia on Dec. 3-5, 2017.

The signing ceremony took place at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh this morning under the witness of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his visiting Bangladeshi counterpart H.E. Ms. Sheikh Hasina following their bilateral talks.

Those 11 documents include the Joint Communique on the Outcome of the Official Visit of H.E. Ms. Sheikh Hasina to Cambodia, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation and Collaboration on Matters Related to Implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030), MoU concerning the Cooperation in the Field of Labour and Vocational Training, MoU on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism, MoU on the Modalities for Institutional Cooperation under the Joint Trade Council, MoU on Institutional Cooperation on Matters Related to Promotion of Investment, MoU on Cooperation in the Field of Information and Communication Technology, MoU on Cooperation in the Field of Aquaculture and Fisheries, MoU on Collaboration and Cooperation in the Preservation of their War History, War Monuments and War Relics, MoU on Academic Cooperation between Royal Academy of Cambodia and Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies, and Agreement of Cooperation between the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

H.E. Ms. Sheikh Hasina and her entourage arrived here yesterday afternoon for a three-day visit in Cambodia, at the invitation of Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

During the visit, H.E. Ms. Sheikh Hasina will be granted a Royal Audience by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace.

Moreover, the Bangladeshi premier will pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate, and Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly.

H.E. Ms. Sheikh Hasina used to visit Cambodia in January 2011, while Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen paid a visit to Bangladesh in June 2014.

During the Cambodian premier’s visit from June 16-18, 2014, four important cooperation deals, including the agreement on the establishment of a joint commission for promoting bilateral cooperation, the memorandum of understanding on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of agriculture, the agreement on cultural cooperation, and the agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investment, were signed.
