Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will preside over the signing ceremony on grant aid, to be held on 30 March 2017.

On 30 March 2017 at 16:00, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will preside over the signing ceremony, as follows:

I- His Excellency Prak Sokhonn, Senior Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and His Excellency HORINOUCHI Hidehisa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, will sign the Exchange of Notes and Record of Discussions on grant aid and loan for the following projects:

  1. Grant aid up to the amount of JPY 109,000,000 (approximately 949,973 US dollars) for the implementation of the Project for Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement in the Phnom Penh Capital City (Phase IV);
  2. Grant aid up to the amount of JPY 1,453,000,000 (approximately 12,660,000 US dollars) for the implementation of the Project for Improvement of Battambang Provincial Referral Hospital;
  3. Loan up to the amount of JPY 11,136,000,000 (approximately 98,000,000 US dollars) for the implementation of National Road No. 5 Improvement Project (Battambang-Si Sophon Section II); and
  4. Grant aid up to the amount of JPY 3,271,000,000 (approximately 28,500,000 US dollars) for the implementation of the Project for Expansion of Water Supply System in Kampong Thom.

II- His Excellency Aun Pornmoniroth, Senior Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance and Mr. Yuichi SUGANO, Chief Representative, JICA Cambodia Office will sign the Grant Agreement and Loan Agreement on the Financing Cooperation Projects, as follows:

  • Grant Agreement for two projects with the amount up to JPY 1,562,000,000:
  1. The Project for Improvement of Battambang Provincial Referral Hospital; and
  2. The Project for Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement in Phnom Penh Capital City (Phase IV).
  • Loan Agreement for one project with the amount up to JPY11,136,000,000 for National Road No.5 Improvement Project “ Battambang-Sri Sophorn” II.

Japan is one of our most important partners and has significantly contributed to Cambodia’s economic, social and infrastructure development. These projects are expected to improve Cambodia’s regional connectivity and to enhance peoples’ well-being with better healthcare, water supply and flood protection.
